The village of Iffley itself is a conservation area, its narrow streets leading down to the river where you cross the weir to reach the lock.

The enclave of homes at Grimsby Beach on Lake Ontario, come in a rainbow of colours, including pink, green, yellow, blue and purple – sometimes all of them on the same house. The buildings date back to the late 1800s when they were first used as summer cottages.

What's more beautiful than one pink, spiky late-summer dahlia? An infinite amount of pink dahlias. I think dahlias are an amazing flower, and one of the few I can grow consistently. They're so absundant in late summer in the Pacific Northwest, where the weather is perfect for them.

Misty Morning In Goathland, Yorkshire, UK This is Rose Cottage, where we stayed in Goathland with our dog, Skye, the bearded collie. Goathland is a village and civil parish in the Scarborough district of North Yorkshire, England. Historically part of the North Riding of Yorkshire, it is in the North York Moors national park. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway has a heritage station in Goathland, which may be familiar as 'Hogsmeade' station from the early Harry Potter films.
