Most of the storylines involve Deputy Dawg pursuing local miscreants Muskie Muskrat, Ty Coon, and Vincent van Gopher for petty crimes. When the scofflaws aren't causing trouble, Deputy Dawg pals around with the trio, often engaging in their favorite pastime, fishing for catfish.
