Much like her Greek counterpart in Artemis, Diana was the Roman Goddess of wild animals, the hunt, young girls, and childbirth. Unlike Artemis, however, Diana was also a moon Goddess. The crescent moon and stag were her symbols. Some Wiccan traditions associate the moon with the Goddess and the stag with Her Consort, the Horned God.

Minerva is her Roman counterpart. She was was a companion to many of the great heroes in Greek legend. She was also the patroness and protector of Athens. A perpetual virgin, she never married. The owl was her symbol.

This started as a simple tattoo design and I added more to it to look more Mucha inspired as well as have more design overall. The woman is actually a design for the Norse goddess Hel. Which is why half of her looks the way it does. The more greenish part of her is the half that is decayed.
