A small section of the crowd at the 2006 annual Loony Dook in South Queensferry, Scotland. The water, as always, was freezing cold (it is a tributary of the North Sea after all). MORE than 3,000 people turned out to watch a record number of people take part in the annual Loony Dook fund raising spectacle in South Queensferry on New Years' Day. Residents and tourists descended on the town's High Street area well in advance of the mid-day dip to ensure they had a good vantage point. And they were not disappointed.
