Dow Hoodies
Description: Tucked into the side of the Moore Hotel (built in 1907), this old school dive bar bordering Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood first opened it’s doors in 1939. They served up cheap (and stiff!) drinks from nice, but no-nonsense bartenders in a colorful, no-fuss, vintage atmosphere. It was the kind of place where bike messengers, old-timers, metal heads, hipsters, and oddball downtown characters sat side-by-side in harmony. They also had live music, dart boards, pool tables, a killer happy hour, and strangely, really good food. It closed suddenly in Spring 2016 and locals have lamented the loss of “the last real bar in Seattle” ever since.
Description: Dave Sim's Cerebus the Aardvark turns 50 in 2027. Dave's working on a Logo for all the shenanigans he's going to get up to next year. Manly Matt Dow took a scan of a photocopy Dave is inking, and darkened the image and then "colored" it. This isn't the Official version, just a "bootleg" you can buy now until the Real Deal gets finished and released.
Description: This piece captures the essence of LL Cool J, a hip-hop legend. He is a fierce battle rapper with a boombox on his shoulder and also a subtle romantic poet, proving that strength can be found in vulnerability. He is the face of the legendary record label Def Jam Recordings, which is reflected in the design of this piece.
