The plateapuses don't usually swim in ponds or rivers. Instead they prefer hot steaming tea. Their thick skin and isolating fur can withstand the heat so they don't get burned. To them it's as nice as a visit to the sauna, the only difference is that they stay all day, every day.

The Platypus is a semi-aquatic mammal that lays eggs. The only other existing egg laying mammals are Echidnas. The Platypus is found only in eastern Australia and Tasmania. They spend much of their time in the water, hunting for worms, insect larvae, shrimp, and crayfish. The Platypus hunts for its food by sensing the electric field created by the movement of its prey. As is true for many animals of Australia, there is evidence that the Platypus is at risk of extinction from climate change, increasing periods of drought, and loss of its environment due to development.
