Description: During the early 1880s, William Thum, a druggist in a Grand Rapids, Michigan, tasked his four sons with developing a better flypaper. The brothers developed a sticky formula based on castor oil, resins, and wax, that resulted in a much longer shelf life, and didn't saturate the backing.
