Franklin Square Hoodies
Description: Franklin Square's illuminated fountain sprays while the carousel glows warm and the Benjamin Franklin Bridge's cables arc overhead — the Philadelphia Chinatown Friendship Arch glittering nearby as Van Gogh's swirling crescent moon and stars light the park. Philly's heart, painted electric.
Description: At Madison Square Garden, 3 days before the 1936 election, President FDR called out "the old enemies of peace - business and financial monopoly, speculation, reckless banking, class antagonism, sectionalism, war profiteering", saying "We know now that Government by organized money is just as dangerous as Government by organized mob", and "They are unanimous in their hate for me - and I welcome their hatred." Can you imagine any politician today talking like that? The full audio is on Youtube.
Description: Pretty much everyone was aware of the Colonial Square grand opening in 1959. The opening of 16 new stores including Wayzata Rexall Drug, Red Owl, Ben Franklin Variety, Community Credit, Coast to Coast, Olson’s Shoes, Walbom’s Apparel, Pink Pony and Colonial Coiffures was a big deal in the west metro. The shopping center boasted of design innovations and grand opening celebrations stretched from October through November. Visitors to the new center saw, as the Minnetonka Herald reported Oct. 1, 1959, “a striking use of color and highlights of wood paneling throughout.” The interior lighting used was new for this area of the country, which was supposed to to be three times brighter than conventional lighting.
