A vineyard starting to turn to autumn colours in north east Italy, near the Abbey of Rosazzo, Manzano, Friuli.

I reproduced a 5th century BC Greek drinking cup freaturing Bacchus, the god of wine, shaking grapevines to harvest the grapes he needs to make wine.

On a day of crisp spring, I arrived at the vineyard. It seemed Spanish, ancient, a place of delicious shade and a splash of mystery. A fountain splashed playfully, Tivolian in beauty. And despite the shade, the light was intense in places, white. The walls, ochre, orange, brown, merging in colour. A place to sip fruity, rich, deep wine. A place to spend time, to linger, to contemplate. This work is rich in detail and light, a perfect souvenir of California.

Intoxicating summer days.. I had some of the most wonderful days out exploring the Kentish Vineyards in the spring, and met some gorgeous alpacas whilst soaking up the beautiful scenery. We are so lucky in England to have some genius wine growers, who not only produce sumptuous wine fit for a queen, but imprint contrasting textures, colours and patterns in perfect harmony through their art on the countryside. So I am exploring the Kent and Sussex countryside to find these gorgeous scenes that make painting such a joy. I hope you enjoy my painting.

We grow grapes to make wine. Anyone directly involved with the wine industry post pruning knows in only a few months this vineyard will be in vintage. Magpie Springs is a rustic farm very close to the McLaren Vale in the Adelaide Hills Wine Region. The property has some of the oldest vines in the Southern Adelaide Hills. Our vineyard, homestead, art gallery and cellar door in the centre of the Fleurieu Peninsula is nestled back from B34, the main road from Hahndorf to Willunga Hill. We are half way from Adelaide to Victor Harbor. Our vines, organically grown since 2013 have been under a restoration process and are now producing premium fruit. 5 different winemakers purchase our fruit. Monument at the entrance to Napa Valley, California. Artist Gino Miles Did you know? The Grape Crusher is the statue sitting atop Vista Point near Napa Valley Corporate Drive, looming over the vineyards as you drive into Napa Valley on Highway 29. Grape Crusher was created by well-known artist Gino Miles in 1986. Miles created the sculpture as a tribute to the vineyard workers of the valley, in honor of 200 years of grape growing in Napa Valley. The sculpture was purchased and dedicated by the city of Napa in 1987. The Grape Crusher weighs 6,000 pounds, stands 16 feet tall, and is set atop a 10-foot base covered in river rock.

Vine (1873) by William Morris is a vintage Victorian Era fine art Pre-Raphaelite textile pattern originally created as damask wallpaper featuring bunches of golden grapes with vines and intertwining leaves.

We visited the Cottage Vineyward & Winery in Cleveland, Georgia, USA on one our of first month's living full-time in our 'Skoolie,' a converted American school bus. The wine was great and the location was even better. A close drive to Helen, GA too.
