Proof of how smart spiders are! I was taking a macro shot of this Common Bird Orchid (Chiloglottis Valida) but I kept seeing these fine lines across the flower. I realised a very smart spider had spun it's web around the flower to make sure any visiting insect became lunch! Found at Hochkins Ridge Flora Reserve in Croydon North, Victoria, Australia.

It was very helpful of these Spotted Sun Orchids (Thelymitra Ixiodes) to line up so I could keep all of them in focus! Fiund at Baluk Willam Reserve in Belgrave South, Victoria, Australia.

Surfacing from the sand is a great opportunity to be in touch with nature.

I found a colony of these Tongue Orchids (Cryptostylis Subulata) in the middle of last Winter. I kept going back every month or so until they produced some flower stems. Then I visited every week - weather permitting - until they flowered. Their exotic beauty was worth the wait!

I waited weeks for these Tongue Orchids (Cryptostylis Subulata) to come into flower. The flower stems appeared in early Spring. A couple of weeks after the first flowers appeared I went back to see how they were doing - and found this gorgeous pair!
