Stay gold Ponyboy.

As he lies dying in Chapter 9, Johnny Cade speaks these words to Ponyboy. “Stay gold” is a reference to the Robert Frost poem that Ponyboy recites to Johnny when the two hide out in the Windrixville Church. One line in the poem reads, “Nothing gold can stay,” meaning that all good things must come to an end. By the end of the novel, the boys apply this idea to youthful innocence, believing that they cannot remain forever unsullied by the harsh realities of life. Here, Johnny urges Ponyboy to remain gold, or innocent. Johnny now senses the uselessness of fighting; he knows that Ponyboy is better than the average hoodlum, and he wants Ponyboy to hold onto the golden qualities that set him apart from his companions.

Hinton St Mary Number of views as of 10th March 2018 = 575. This is part of the tree-lined avenue leading to the Manor House at Hinton St Mary (a small village in the Blackmore Vale, North Dorset, England, a mile north of Sturminster Newton). The manor house itself, a Grade II listed building, has been in the hands of the Pitt and Pitt-Rivers family for over 400 years. In 1963, part of a Roman Mosaic pavement (believed to be the first depicting the head of Christ) was discovered at Hinton St Mary. The mosaic is now in the British Museum. Date: 30th November 2014. Midsummer Hinton The picturesque village of Hinton St Mary, near Sturminster Newton, Dorset, England. The church (left of shot) with its 15th century tower is actually dedicated to St Peter, rather than St. Mary as you might expect. The manor house (right) was once owned by the nuns of Shaftesbury Abbey, but for the last 400 years has been the home of the Pitt-Rivers family. Date: 18th June 2017.

Manor Gardens, Hinton St Mary Number of views as of 14th December 2016 = 350. A view of the gardens at Hinton St Mary manor, near Sturminster Newton (North Dorset, England). The village of approximately 200 inhabitants hit the news headlines in 1963, when a Roman mosaic believed to depict the head of Christ was discovered in the village. Stour Valley Way: Cutt Mill, Hinton St Mary Just upstream from Sturminster Newton (Dorset, England), Cutt (or Cut) Mill is one of three grain mills in the area, the others being at Fiddleford and Sturminster Newton. The mill is now a ruin after a fire in 2003 and the present bricks and mortar date from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. However, it is believed that grain may have been milled on this site for 2000 years or more, Certainly there was a working mill at Hinton St Mary at the time of the Domesday Book in 1086. The earliest millers on record were John Rake and his son Ambrose, who died in 1752 and 1789 respectively. Search 'Stour Valley Way' for other views of the River Stour. Date: 16th September 2018.

The Badger Dray Number of views as of 29th August 2018 = 1870. The greenest way to deliver beer! A brewer's dray pulled by a pair of Suffolk Punch horses, captured in the 'pairs' class at the Great Dorset Steam Fair, Tarrant Hinton, near Blandford, Dorset, England. The dray is owned by local firm Hall & Woodhouse (established 1777), who brew their popular range of beers at the Badger brewery just down the road at Blandford St Mary. Date: 4th September 2010.

Foden Steam Lorry Number of views as of 3rd June 2017 = 1300. A Foden steam lorry in the livery of New Forest cobbler George Knight pictured in the main arena at the Great Dorset Steam Fair at Tarrant Hinton, near Blandford, Dorset, England. Foden Trucks was a British truck and bus manufacturing company originating from Sandbach, Cheshire, founded in 1856. Production switched from steam powered vehicles to diesels in the 1930s. The last Foden rolled off the production line in 2006. Date: 4th September 2010.

Robey Steam Engine Number of views as of 4th March 2018 = 700. Another exhibit being put through its paces at the Great Dorset Steam Fair at Tarrant Hinton, near Blandford, Dorset, England. The Robey company was founded in Lincoln in 1854 and began by manufacturing threshing machines. Later, the company diversified into steam engines, steam rollers, steam wagons, boat engines and even aircraft during the First World War. At the International Exhibition in Paris in 1878, their steam engine was the only one to run for the entire exhibition without breaking down, earning them a prestigious 'Gold Medal' award. The engine shown is in the livery of Jesse Parker, of Ringwood, Hampshire. Date: 4th September 2010.

Showman's Engines Number of views as of 1st April 2019 = 1400. A showman's engine or road locomotive is a steam-powered, road-going vehicle designed to provide power and transport for a travelling fair or circus. Similar to other steam-powered, traction engines, showman's engines have a number of distinguishing features including a full-length canopy, a dynamo mounted in front of the chimney, brightly coloured paintwork and ornate decorations. Many were also fitted with rows of electric lamps to enhance their appearance at night. The dynamo was used to generate electricity to illuminate and power various fairground rides. Avis Overhead Bridge built in 1928 to go over CSX rail tracks, this National Register eligible bridge has since been retired, but was still used as a footpath, but now clearly says No Trespassing

The Summers County Courthouse in Hinton, West Virginia, is a red brick Romanesque Revival or late Victorian building, originally constructed in 1875-76. The building was remodeled between 1893 and 1898 by architect Frank Pierce Milburn, who added octagonal turrets at the corners. A 1923 addition followed suit with another square with two towers. A plan 1930s addition followed. A cast-iron stairway in the northwest tower ascends to the courtroom
