Ramones star sun fall, As punk rock came into its own in the ‘70s, no American band had a deeper influence on the genre than the Ramones. Emerging from New York - where they regularly performed at the legendary CBGB club - the group served up feverish songs delivered at breakneck speed. Across the next two decades, the Ramones would score some of the most iconic songs in punk history, including “Blitzkrieg Bop,” “Sheena Is a Punk Rocker,” “Rock ‘n’ Roll High School” and “I Wanna Be Sedated.” Still, their trailblazing legacy went far beyond those favorites. Multiple generations of artists - from contemporaries like the Clash and Motorhead to later acts like Foo Fighters and Pearl Jam - have cited the Ramones as a major influence.
