Description: In 1923, Pierre Marchal started an electric lighting company focused on high-performance automotive lighting in Pantin, France. While they had no problem getting their lighting products picked up by manufacturers and aftermarket suppliers alike, the brand experienced its first big successes in 1926 as a motorsports sponsor at the Monaco Rally, Paris-Nice, Rudge-Whitworth Cup, and Le Mans. These races demonstrated the resilience of their products and had more people than ever wanting them on their cars. In the late '40s, Marchal began adding other high performance electrical products to their line, most notably of which was their spark plugs. By the ’50s, Marchal was the top brand of aftermarket and OEM electrical accessories in Europe.
