Marginalia Hoodies
Description: Medieval marginalia gets combined with motivational poster for an absurd mash up. A bright red fish with little legs pops out of a coffer chest, under bold gothic lettering. Think outside the box? Think Outside the Coffer instead. If you love weird medieval art, strange creatures, odd manuscript doodles, and punny designs, then this one’s for you.

Description: For this hand-carved block carving I have based my design on an original image from Geoffrey of Monmouth’s Historia Regum Britanniae found in the Bibliothèque nationale France (National Library of France.) The image is a piece of marginalia depicting a Medieval king. I recreated this image in my own style and have printed this block by hand before scanning it to make this design.
