Dartmouth Harbour, Devon, UK Dartmouth Harbour (also Dart Harbour) is a natural port located in Dartmouth, Devon, England. It is situated at the mouth of the River Dart on the English Channel. Bayard's Cove Fort is a small fort, which was built to defend the harbour's entrance. The crafts which dock at the port are mainly local fishing vessels, naval ships and luxury yachts; warships routinely visit the harbour. By Paul Thompson Photography

Toledo Bend Reservoir on the Sabine River between Texas and Louisiana has an area of 185,000 acres, making it the largest man-made body of water in the South, and the fifth largest in the United States. With its 1,200 miles of shoreline, Toledo Bend offers a large variety of recreational activities and is a popular location for freshwater fishing, with many clubs hosting tournaments since it's the dam went into operation in 1969. Sportsman's Paradise Marina opened in Chauvin, Louisiana in the mid '70s, quickly becoming one of the more popular marinas for fishermen looking to get out on the lake and track down some of the bass, catfish, sunfish, and bluegill Toledo Bend is famous for.

Ocean Village, Southampton (UK) has changed a bit since I first visited 30 years ago. Back then it was the most desirable place to be in the city, with exclusive apartments and houses with a view over a marina filled with yachts, and a vibrant little mall with cafes on the waterfront. Since then the development has grown hugely, with the marina (now filled with expensive 'gin palaces') overshadowed by tall buildings fighting for the light. The atmosphere may have changed, but there is still some of the magic around the marina. and that is what I've aimed to capture in this 12x16 inch oil painting, looking towards where there was once just that little two storey complex of shops and cafes.
