The Alabama Vulcans were a professional football team which were a part of the American Football Association in 1979. Though the Vulcans used a different color scheme than its predecessors did in the World Football League, the team's name was borrowed from the WFL's Birmingham Vulcans, and its logo was an amalgamation of those of the Vulcans and the Birmingham Americans to draw on the popularity of the previous league's teams. During the one season of the team's existence, it had a record of 13–6, with two five-game winning streaks. The team made the playoffs, but lost in the first round.

The Okmulgee Drillers were a minor league baseball team that played in the Western Association from 1920 to 1927. They were based in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. In 1922, they played at Athletic Park, and from 1923 to 1927, they played at Petrolia Park. Under managers Whitey Hensling and Ed Brennan in 1920, the Drillers went 83-46, finishing first in the standings. They tied for the league championship that season. In 1921, they had three or four different managers. One source says they were managed by Frank Herriott, Harry Womack and Johnny Wuffli, while another says Ed Klepfer managed them as well. The Charleston Royals are a defunct Class A farm club of the Kansas City Royals in the South Atlantic League. Charleston’s College Park hosted a Pittsburgh Pirates minor league farm club for most of the of the 1970’s. After one summer without baseball in 1979, the Royals brought pro ball back to town in the spring of 1980. Charleston developed a handful of future Major League stars during the Royals era that ran from 1980 to 1984.

The Victoria Rosebuds were a minor league baseball team in various Texas leagues located in Victoria, Texas. The team played in the Lone Star League (1977), Gulf States League (1976), Texas League (1958–1961), Big State League (1956–1957), Gulf Coast League (1926), Southwest Texas League (1910–1911).

The Geminis, originally Twin Cities Geminis and then Buffalo Geminis, were a long-running semi-pro football outfit that played in the Buffalo, New York region during the 1970’s and into the early 1980’s. The team played in several minor league teams and eventually joined the American Football Association (AFA) in the 1982 summer season, which turned out to be their last.

The city of Mansfield, Ohio, was home to minor league baseball teams, known by various nicknames, which played periodically between 1887 and 1912, and between 1935 and 1941. The team first began play in the Ohio State League in 1887 as simply Mansfield. The following season, the club moved to the Tri-State League until 1890. After a three-year hiatus, Mansfield once again fielded a new team, the Mansfield Electricians and played the 1893 season in the short-lived Ohio–Michigan League. No team was then fielded until 1897, when the city fielded the Mansfield Haymakers in the Interstate League.

The Kokomo Wild Cats was the only known moniker of the minor league baseball teams based in Kokomo, Indiana between 1890 and 1909. Kokomo teams played as members of the Indiana State League in 1890, 1896 and 1900, the Indiana–Illinois League in 1899, Ohio-Indiana League in 1907 and Northern State of Indiana League in 1909. The Kokomo Wild Cats were succeeded by the 1955 Kokomo Giants, who played as members of the Mississippi-Ohio Valley League

The Huntsville Blast were a minor league professional ice hockey team and member of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL). The Blast played at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, Alabama, for the 1993–94 ECHL season. Previously the franchise played as the Roanoke Valley Rampage in Vinton, Virginia, prior to their relocation following the 1992–93 season. Following their lone season in Huntsville, the franchise relocated to Tallahassee, Florida, where they were rebranded as the Tallahassee Tiger Sharks.

The Shreveport Sports were a professional Minor League Baseball team based in Shreveport, Louisiana, in the United States. The Sports fielded a team from 1925 to 1935, 1938 to 1942, 1946 to 1957, and 1959 to 1961. They were affiliated with the Chicago White Sox in 1939, 1942, and 1946.

The Broome Dusters were an ice hockey team in the North American Hockey League from 1973 to 1977. They played in Binghamton, New York, United States at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena. The movie Slap Shot was loosely based on the Dusters.

My first "real" car was a Morris Minor. I wanted a Mini but "Dad's know best". It turned out to be a wonderful car and saw me through student days and into working life. Then it blew-up! Taken in Liverpool where this apparently abandoned Morris Minor had had the local graffiti treatment. This car, one the same colour as mine, looked very sad. On closer inspection I discovered that the original handbook and the supplied Morris Minor Road Atlas where abandoned along-side "my" car.

The Battle Creek Crickets of the Southern Michigan Association ended the 1912 season with a record of 59 wins and 68 losses, finishing sixth in the SMA.

Minor league baseball teams were based in Aurora, Illinois, in various seasons from 1888 to 1915. Playing under numerous monikers, Aurora teams played as members of the Interstate League in 1888, Illinois-Iowa League from 1890 to 1892, Western Interstate League in 1895. The 1911 Aurora Blues continued play in the Wisconsin–Illinois League as the league became a Class C level league in 1911. The Blues finished with a record of 56–57 record and in seventh place.
