A view across the Old Chemical Beach, passed Liddle Stack, over Noses Point, Seaham Harbour and off north to Sunderland. The Heritage Cost, has a number of little bays in the area, the beaches vary from rock and shingle to soft sand. Here the view is over the older beaches, that were used as a dumping ground for the waste materials of the mines and the chemical factory of Seahams industrial past. The wooden uprights show the route the old wagons took to the dumping areas. All cleaned now and beaches that have been awarded Blue Flag status.

The North East of England has a wonderful coastline, rugged coast, sandy beaches, A walk from Seahouses to Bamburgh takes you along the sandy beach and up into the grass covered sand dunes. Here from probably the highest viewpoint in the dunes the coast is shown with Bamburgh Castle to the left.

The Bamburgh castle we see today is a relatively recent structure, but the castle boasts a much longer history. There have been settlements on the site since prehistoric times. The Northern Prince, Thornham Staithe, Norfolk, UK. The small fishing boat was parked at Thornham Staithe for many years slowly fading. The Northern Prince art appeared and within a few years, the boat had gone.

The locally named Chemical Beach at Seaham Harbour on the County Durham Coast of northern England is named after the old chemical works that was located close to the cliffs in the 1800's. The waste from the works ran in pipes to the sea where is was disgorged. Over the years, much work has been carried out to create clean beaches. However, signs of the old damage persist. The area can produce almost alien looking images at both sunrise and sunset.

The harbour entrance at Maryport on the north Cumbrian coast. The town overlooks the Solway Firth with the hills of Dumfries and Galloway in the far distance. Maryport was once a thriving port centred round the coal and ship building industries. Having declined in importance since Victorian times, it is now developing as a holiday and cultural centre and the harbour is home to fishing boats and yachts. This image was captured in early morning in late June and has been made into digital art.

The Blast Beach as it is locally known, is located just south of Seaham Harbour, in the area of Noses Point on the County Durham coastline of North East England. The beach was once a dumping ground for the old waste from the mines and chemical works - with the Chemical Beach, being close by. The sea stack, is unusual in that it has never been named.

Lindisfarne or Holy Island War Memorial, is a First World war memorial Lutyens design cross. It is constructed from pink ashlar from nearby Doddington. Located on the Heugh adjacent to the ruins of Lindisfarne Priory.

Probably the most photographed castle in Northern England - But with views and morning skies like this, who can't resist the wonderful Bamburgh Castle. Standing proud and defiant on the Northumbrian coastline, Bamburgh remains a favourite tourist spot and rarely fails to have a photographer taking an image.

An impressionistic view of Cumbria's Northern Fells from the countryside near Silloth - with a couple of wind turbines dominating the scene. Afrter a rather stormy day the sky has cleared to give us a blustery, colourful sunset. More and more wind turbines are appearing - many of them offshore in wind farms. These two, however, stand in solitary state!

The marina at Seaham Harbour was once home to a multitude of local fishing vehicles, landing their catch daily and selling it along the dockside. Over the years, as fishing declined, the docks and harbour changed. Now with new marina gates protecting the leisure craft, the marina is home to local boat owners. The area now includes busy cafes and shops, along with the Lifeboat Heritage Centre. Here the image show dawn breaking over the marina.
