Vintage Plague Doctor 2020 in roman numerals

Bubonic Plague was one of the darkest points in human history and a very fascinating subject. One of my favorite (weird to say regards to the topic) aspects were the plague doctor masks. The reason for the long "beak" was to put scented objects to help combat the smell of death in the places they had to frequent.

A darkly humorous block print I made that I decided to turn into a shirt design.

During the bubonic plague of 1665, the world was ravaged by the disease. City-wide Plague Orders were made all over Europe, which stipulated that two women be appointed to serve as 'keepers' (or plague nurses) to those infected.
