On March 17, 1981, First Media completed their pourchase of KBLE-FM, and flipped it to an automated Top 40/CHR format as "The Northwest's New 93 FM." On July 8, 1981, KBLE officially launched with live on-air staff. On April 2, 1982, the call letters were changed to KUBE, and the station became known as "KUBE 93 FM". Shortly after the switch to Top 40/CHR, KUBE shot up to the top 5 in the Seattle radio market ratings (occasionally reaching #1 in some books and target demographics) and would later become the dominant CHR station in the Seattle metropolitan area. KUBE primarily competed against two other Top 40/CHR stations in the Seattle metropolitan area, creating an intense rivalry between the three stations throughout the '80s.

The Seattle Angels, originally named the Seattle Indians and also known as the Seattle Rainiers, were a Minor League Baseball team in Seattle, Washington, that played in the Pacific Coast League from 1903 to 1906 and 1919 to 1968. They were initially named for the indigenous Native American population of the Pacific Northwest, and changed their name after being acquired by the Rainier Brewing Company, which was in turn named for nearby Mount Rainier. After a few lean years, the Rainiers won PCL flags in 1951 and 1955, the last pennants won under Sick's ownership. After the 1960 season, the team was sold to the Boston Red Sox. The Red Sox in turn sold the Rainiers to the California Angels in 1965, who renamed the team the Seattle Angels.

Lacey, Washington, was originally called Woodland after settlers Isaac and Catherine Wood, who claimed land there in 1853. When the railroad came through in 1891, residents decided it was time to apply for a post office. The request was denied because there was already a town called Woodland on the Columbia River. They decided to call the city Lacey and got a post office, though the city of wasn't officially incorporated until 1966. One year later, The Loose Caboose Tavern opened in Lacey, and quickly became a popular watering hole for the locals, many of which commuted to Olympia, Fort Lewis, and to some extent, Tacoma, for work, but came how every night to tie one on at their favorite tavern,

Winter Adventures

The large 1940s era Loback Meat Co. sign that spans the aisle of the main arcade in Seattle's Pike Place Market is well known by locals and tourists alike as you simply can't ignore its beautiful vintage neon glow as you make your way through the market. While the sign is still there decades later, the butcher shop itself, however, did not persevere. Opened in 1946, Loback’s was one of several butcher shops at the Market, selling specialties such as homemade sausages, goose, and luau pigs in addition to the more standard fare of steaks and hams. After a 40 year run, they closed their doors in 1986, and two separate attempts to revive it failed, closing for good in 1989. Nowadays, the historic space is filled by a jelly and chocolate shop.

The 1979 World Championship Series was played at the conclusion of the 1978–79 season. The Western Conference champion Seattle Supersonics played the Eastern Conference champion Washington Bullets, with the Bullets holding home-court advantage, due to a better regular season record. The series was a rematch of the 1978 Finals, which the Washington Bullets had won 4–3, though this time around, the Supersonics defeated the Bullets 4 games to 1 putting themselves in the history books as the 1979 World Champs.

It is impossible to paint the vibrance blue of Crater Lake. If you visited the park and saw the amazing blue lake, then this might be the design for you.

The Seattle SuperSonics, commonly known as the Sonics, were a professional basketball team based in Seattle, Washington. The SuperSonics played in the National Basketball Association as a member club of the league's Western Conference Pacific and Northwest divisions from 1967 until 2008.
