Description: This artwork captures the enigmatic allure of Rapa Nui National Park, home to the iconic moai statues on Easter Island. The design emphasizes the connection between these monumental sculptures and the surrounding volcanic landscapes, symbolizing the cultural legacy of this remote island.
Description: Inspired by the ancient mysteries and spiritual legends of Easter Island, this premium design honors the rich heritage of Rapa Nui and Chile. The intricate, textured illustration features the iconic Moai statues guarding the coastline as a majestic Andean condor soars beneath a starry sky adorned with the Southern Cross constellation. Combined with the poetic typography "Ancestors Watch. Oceans Remember," and volcanic stone lettering, this artwork is a stunning tribute to Chilean identity and historic pride.
Description: Rongorongo is the script of Rapa Nui (Easter Island). More-famous for its megalithic Mo'ai heads, Rapa Nui has its share of Polynesian mysteries, and Rongorongo is one of the most enigmatic. The origins of these glyphs are unknown, and if it turns out that Rongorongo was a pre-colonial script, it would be one of the only independent inventions of writing in known human history, unseen elsewhere in the Pacific or South America. Only a handful of priests could ever read the glyphs, and most of these indigenous elite were killed in the Peruvian slaving raids of the 1800s and the subsequent disease epidemics that all but wiped out the indigenous islanders. The tragedy and the loss inflicted cannot be adequately comprehended.
Description: A cool Moai stone idol from the Island of Rapa Nui, or Easter Island is casual in the tube as he enjoys the powerful surf that visits the island. This is an archival quality, hand-signed fine art print of my original acrylic painting, which is part of my Tiki and Surf Art Series.
