When white settlers came to Australia, they brought with them many of their traditions and customs. Traditions that had little to do with the heat and sun of the Australian Christmas. So, overtime, the old customs evolved and the names changed. Perhaps the best example of this is Sandy Claws, the Christmas Wombat*. A direct descendent from his northern hemisphere counterpart, Sandy Claws does not fly through the air on a magic sled, but has chosen a less spectacular way to make his deliveries. Sandy Claws travels across the vast Australian outback via a network of tunnels that links the scattered communities and homesteads – safe from prying eyes and the heat of the sun. *In some areas, Sandy Claws is depicted as a goanna.

Perhaps the most well-known artistic development of the 20th century, Pop art emerged in reaction to consumerism, mass media, and popular culture. This movement surfaced in the 1950s and gained major momentum throughout the sixties.

We all know Santa Claus, but do you know Sandy Claws?

Try your luck at your worst nightmare. Open since 1993 in Halloween Town is Oogies casino, where snake eyes are a bad thing! Hopefully the wheel ends up in your favor or you’ll have to boogie out of town.

Halloween Town is a fantasy world populated by various monsters and beings associated with the holiday ("This is Halloween"). Jack Skellington, who is respected by the citizens as the "Pumpkin King", leads them in organizing the annual Halloween celebrations, but he has grown tired of the same annual routine and wants something new ("Jack's Lament"). While wandering in the woods the next morning, he encounters several trees containing doors leading to other holiday-themed worlds (Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, Independence Day, Valentine's Day, and St. Patrick's Day) and stumbles into a door leading to Christmas Town ("What's This?").
