Druridge Bay in Northumberland is seven miles of beautiful beach between Cresswell in the south and Amble in the north and is almost deserted for much of the year. This image was taken on a blustery, sunny March morning from the top of the dunes looking down over the beach under a blue sky and wispy clouds.

A beautiful day at the beach in Ocean City, NJ. I was able to capture this seascape as a single seagull flew overhead. To me this captures everything that is the shore, the sand, the ocean and a blue sky.

Macquarie Island (or Macca) lies in the southwest corner of the Pacific Ocean, about half-way between New Zealand and Antarctica, at 54°30S, 158°57E.1 Politically, it is part of Tasmania, Australia since 1900 and became a Tasmanian State Reserve in 1978. A cut through the dunes onto the beach at Blyth in Northumberland on the North East coast of England. The piers at the mouth of the River Blyth can be seen on the horizon together with the lighthouse at the end of Cambois Pier. The image has been converted to black and white, but it is also available in colour.

This is one of the views on my favourite walk on the isle of Wight. This section of the walk starts at the Needles, or rather the secret rocket test facility, and follows the sinuous ridge of Tennyson Down. Its grassland all the way with wildflowers, lumps of chalk scattered around by the burrowing rabbits, and blue butterflies fluttering about. View to the left is toward Yarmouth and the mainland, and to the right, a great expanse of blue sea, coloured that way by the chalk. After the summit of Tennyson down, its downhill all the way to Freshwater Bay, with this view of the ridge that stretches right across the island ahead. The bay itself remains out of sight beyond the two rooftops. Painted in oil on a 12x12 inch board.

Impressions of Dungeness View of the sea over dunes, through tall grass at Dungeness. This sandbank was deposited here during the digging of The Channel Tunnel and is fine sand, unlike the shingle beach that is the dominant feature of this place. Dungeness is formed mostly of a shingle beach in the form of a cuspate foreland. Cuspate forelands are also known as cuspate barriers or Nesses. They extend outwards from the shoreline in a triangular shape and in the case of Dungeness are stabilized by vegetation forming a unique eco system. Dungeness is served by the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch miniature railway.
