Myrtos Beach, Kefalonia island, Greece Myrtos Beach is in the region of Pylaros, in the north-west of Kefalonia island, in the Ionian Sea of Greece. Myrtos beach lies between the feet of two mountains, Agia Dynati and Kalon Oros. Myrtos has been described as "one of the most dramatic beaches in Greece", with its "mile-and-a-half long arc of dazzling white pebbles." It was used as the location for the mine explosion episode in the film Captain Corelli's Mandolin. Myrtos has been voted 12 times the best Greek beach while it regularly features in best beaches lists.

This is my watercolor and ink painting of some silhouettes of sea oats on the sand dunes at sunrise. I was inspired to paint this from my visits to the beach at sunrise and sunset. This painting is part of my Florida Watercolor Collection.

Ocean Wave From Indian ocean.

Unless you're a local, McWay Falls, in Big Sur California, can be difficult to get an ideal photo of. On this stop in late January 2015, it had been overcast all day. I'd hoped to get a ray of sun hitting the falls at sunset, but the clouds didn't cooperate. Instead, I came away with this shot, after the sun went down. The exposure was 4 seconds, giving the waves in McWay Cove a soupy look, which I kinda like. Shot with a Pentax 645Z, 45mm, f16.

If you feel like some exercise you can climb the 199 steps to the top of the Cape May, NJ lighthouse. Once at the top of the lighthouse you will have a great view of the New Jersey coastline. The Cape May lighthouse has been in continuous use since 1859.

The incredible men of iron are rusting a bit these days, but still braving the waves 24/7 :)

Gouache also called opaque watercolors gives a very different look to a painting compare to watercolors. They are also very different to work with. Stay tuned for more paintings in this style.

An inland bay off Lake Ontario (one of the Great Lakes) provided the marshy setting for this evocative image of bulrushes & lily pads... Application of a digital filter has produced a rich, almost jewel-like bronze glow to the image.

Petty Harbour–Maddox Cove is a town of approximately 950 people located on the eastern shore of the Avalon Peninsula in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.
