Description: Pie-billed Grebe at Rest by the Reeds ©Debra Martz I was walking the boardwalk early morning at Leonabelle and hoping this one Pie-billed Grebe would move completely beyond the reeds but no such luck. It was happy resting where it was with a watchful eye on its surroundings. Port Aransas Texas March 8th. ©Debra Martz, All Rights Reserved
Description: A hilariously overworked owl mediator presides over the “Stonehaven Small Claims Arbitration Office,” settling fantasy-world disputes with coffee, paperwork, and pure common sense instead of magic or violence. Styled like vintage guild merchandise, the design blends medieval courtroom humor, cozy fantasy aesthetics, and bold retro typography into a parody of bureaucratic justice.
Description: Rock Wren, know by the Maori name Piwauwau is a lovely little bird that lives in the South Island of New Zealand. I based the colors on the true color of this wonderful little bird, browns, olive greens, yellows and blacks. They have distinctive large feet and a long hind toe. It can fly a few yards at a time between rocks. I used Koru patterns. The koru (Māori for "loop" is a spiral shape based on the shape of a new unfurling silver fern frond and symbolizing new life, growth, strength and peace.
