I know, I know... _another_ kitten?! Well, here's how I see it. If you have one husband, nine children, two dogs and four cats... well what's one more living soul about the place? And LOOK at her!! How could I resist? This is Somerset Rose, 3 months old. We call her Summer for short.

The village of East Coker is certainly one of the prettiest in Somerset, UK, with nearly all the houses thatched and a fine church which houses the ashes of the American poet T.S. Eliot. In his 'Four Quartets' there is poem dedicated to the village which begins with the famous line 'In my beginning is my end." (Nikon D5200)

This is one of two narrow shopping streets in Frome (pronounced 'froom') in Somerset, UK. Its too narrow for traffic, and has a stream running down a channel in the path. It also has a fabulous selection of independent shops, including a good bookshop and the bakers shown here. You can't see whats inside from here, but I can tell you its full of delicious cakes, tarts, pastries and pies. I've painted this view in oil on a 12x16 inch board. I hope you enjoy looking at all the little details I've included!

What a perfect night at Lake Somerset in south east Queensland. We could clearly see the Milky Way with the naked eye as we sat on the lake's muddy shores listening to the buzzing insects and the calls of birds. I love star season!

It is also home to an installation termed the 'Somerset Space Walk', a scale model (530 million:1) of the Solar System centred around the 'Sun' at Maunsel lock with the planets located along the towpath in both directions. The Space Walk was designed by local man, Pip Youngman, in order to demonstrate the scale of the Solar System in an interactive way. The trail can be walked either from Taunton's Brewhouse Theatre to Maunsel Lock (Pluto to the Sun) or from Bridgwater's Morrison's Supermarket to Maunsel Lock (also Pluto to the Sun...

Abbey Farmhouse in the lovely village of Montacute in Somerset, England, incorporates the gateway of the medieval Montacute Priory. It was built in the 16th century and has been designated as a Grade I listed building. After the dissolution of the monasteries the property became a farmhouse, but by 1633 it was 'almost desolate'. By 1782 it was a revitalised farm, remaining part of the Phelips estate until 1918.
