I spotted this view on my first trip to St Ives, back in 1998, and took a photo of the lines draped across the beach whilst the boats were out fishing. I thought that one day it would make a good tall painting. 20+ years later, I've got round to doing it, and here is the result, painted in oil on a 12x24 inch board. For the artists out there, the sand is naples yellow and white. For the wet parts I've added mauve and cobalt blue, and some vandyke brown to darken the foreground. For the sea I've used viridian and ultramarine.

This is the harbour or harbor for those from the USA. This would not look out of place in any room in your house, from the kitchen to bathroom, the colours will compliment your blues and greens or offset the greys.
