St Mary's Island lies on the North East coast of England at Whitley Bay north of the River Tyne. This image was taken on a cold December morning at low tide with mist rolling ion from the sea and the early morning light catching the wet surface of the causeway onto the island leading the eye to the lighthouse in the mist. The lighthouse is no longer in operation and is now a museum and tourist attraction which is only accessible at low tide when the causeway is not under water. The image was taken after High Tide on a mild March morning shortly after sunrise from the promenade having the effect of carrying the eye to the island itself.

Just after sunrise on a January morning with a pink glow from the pastel colours in the sky, made for an unusual shot of St Mary's Island which is situated near the town of Whitley Bay on the North East coast of England and is cut off from the mainland each high tide as the water covers the causeway at that time.

Whitby Abbey And Graveyard Of St Mary's Church A recent trip to the East Yorkshire coast would have been incomplete without a visit to Whitby. This fishing town has it all, a fantastic town and harbour, lots of shops and 199 steps up to Whitby Abbey And Graveyard Of St Mary's Church. Did I mention the links to Dracula? The sky was amazing and the gravestones gave a great foreground interest to this timeless landscape at the top of the cliff. St Mary's Lane in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, with its ancient brick and half timbered houses overhanging the street. Tewkesbury is a beautiful mkedieval town, many of its buildings giving a strong clue as to its age. It was sited at the point where the rivers Severn and Avon meet - a natural and formidable moat! Near this image is the Abbey - in the middle ages the spiritual and commercial centre of the town. In 1471, the Battle of Tewkesbury was a decisive point in the Wars of the Roses. St Mary church in York.

A group of thatched cottages clustered round the church in Sulhamstead Abbots, West Berkshire, England. They are C16th Grade II listed buildings. This quiet village is just to the south of the busy A4 or Bath Road which here runs between Reading and Newbury. St Mary's church, which has a distinctive white weatherboarded belfry, is largely C12th and is a grade 1 listed building. A beautiful golden winter sunrise off the coast of Northumberland. The image was taken on the stretch of beach between Blyth and Seaton Sluice in late October looking south towards St Mary's Island which can be spotted on the horizon together with a passing tanker. The sun is partially hidden behind cloud, but is beautifully reflected in the wet sand and the waters of the North Sea.

Steps leading from the promenade to the sands of Porthcressa Beach at Hugh Town on St Mary's - the largest of the Isles of Scilly. The beach lies at the southern edge of the town which is the largest town and the administrative centre of the Scillies. The islands forming this archipelago lie about 25 miles off the south west coast of Cornwall and the only ways of reaching them are by boat or light aircraft. Cruise ships often lie at anchor off the harbour at Hugh Town.

St Mary's Fairford Number of views as of 26th March 2016 = 1000. The parish church of St Mary in the small Cotswold town of Fairford, South Gloucestershire, England. There has been a church at Fairford since at least 1125, but little of this early building now remains, a few fragments of it being incorporated into the magnificent Late Perpendicular church that can be seen today (left). St Mary's is one of several so-called 'wool churches' in the Cotswolds, built from the proceeds acquired from the successful wool and cloth industries of mediaeval times. The church was consecrated in June 1497 and is said to house the most complete set of mediaeval stained and painted glass windows in the country. Date: 21st March 2010.
