Conceived in the late '50s, Legend City was a wild west-themed amusement park that opened its doors in 1963 in Tempe, Arizona. During its twenty-year run, Legend City was an entertainment destination, providing a unique and fun experience for locals and tourists alike. Legend City featured a number of memorable attractions such as the Lost Dutchman Mine ride, Cochise’s Stronghold river ride, Sky Ride, Penny Arcade, Miniature Golf, Log Jammer, and Iron Horse, the train that ran the narrow gauge Legend City Railroad. The park's Golden Palace Saloon featured a multitude of live entertainment, ranging from musical performances and magic acts to ventriloquism and square dancing.

Gone, but not forgotten. Homage to one of the greatest rides ever!

Dante's Inferno from Miracle Strip Amusement Park

Magic Mountain was a 262-acre theme park located in Valencia, California, 35 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles. It opened on May 29, 1971 with 500 employees and 33 attractions. The admission price in 1971 was $5 for adults, and $3.50 for children between the ages of 3 and 12. Because the park was in a relatively remote part of Los Angeles County, the Greyhound provided bus service between the park and Los Angeles. During the first season, the park contracted well known cartoon characters as costumed mascots, but for the second year, they were replaced with the in-house troll characters they had developed. The park still exists today under new ownership and a new name, and actually holds the world record for most roller coasters.

The carousel horses decide to take flight in the middle of the night as the idea hatched with a light bulb so bright. They wind up the infinity symbol on the side and land on a fluffy cloud. They are assisted by 2 majestic butterflies that flutter their wings as they hold up the rainbow spectrum top to help steer and guide them in the starry sky. Underneath the rainbow canopy is a brilliant sunset sky and beneath it a sun starts its ascent for the day ahead. The blue curtains as they open up to reveal this magical ride. Jupiter’s Claim was a California Gold Rush theme park owned by Ricky “Jupe” Park, a former child star best known for playing Jupiter in “Kid Jupiter,” where his nickname “Jupe” was derived from. Located in the Santa Clarita area, Jupiter’s Claim features an authentic western town, packed with things to do and see, plus souvenirs and food a plenty. Outside the town, visitors could enjoy riding an iron horse around Jupe’s Loop, a petting zoo, horse riding, the Winking Well, and of course, the famous Star Lasso Rodeo Show.
