In the 19th century, ladies would go to the general store to buy their sewing notions such as buttons, lace, thimbles and cloth.

"Make do and mend" was a war time slogan telling women to mend their old clothes rather than using resources to make new ones. It is more fitting than ever now for all of us, to make do with what we have rather than using Earth's limited resources to produce more stuff that we don't need.

Tom Thumb may have been a real person born around 1519, as there is a grave purporting to be his. It is set into the floor adjacent to the font of the main chapel in Holy Trinity Church at Tattershall, Lincolnshire, UK. The inscription reads: "T. THUMB, Aged 101 Died 1620". The grave measures just 16" (40 cm) in length.

Awesome skeleton made form craft supplies. My wife sews and knits, and i embroider professionally: so I always like creating designs celebrating artists of the textile variety. This was a design i was super stoked to make. this skeleton features: fabric scissors, fabric measuring tapes, thimbles, buttonhole scissors, knitting needles, and crochet hooks.
