We often see herring gulls as individual opportunistic scavengers, but in some instances avian interactions do occur between different species and some of the waders in particular the big waders, such as this grey heron here... do give way to a more symbiotic approach to fishing. I have spent hours just watching and observing these interactions in my local area and along the foryd and come to the conclusion that there is some element of altruism at play here... In some instances, what the gull scares into the shadows, the heron picks up on and vica versa... and so it can often be seen that they fish together... This kind of mutual co-operation can be often seen within the animal kingdom... If only humans started to work from t...

As the sunset... I spent time birdwatching and time catching the fleeting glimpse of dolphins breaking the surface, which led me to this tidal rock. I observed the light as the sunset and thought about a composition using long exposure... The sun blazing as it lowered in the sky. The long exposure worked well and enhanced the crimson burning rays of the warm sunlight... I thought about the optical neutral density filters I used and the quality and although not a big stopper, or even little stopper at that - I was impressed by the optical quality and the rock stopping - so effectively the sunray at the surface... I think it made for an unusual, less photographed piece..!
