St Paul's Catholic Church at Hill End photographed at the Redbubble Rumble, June 2014. I love the old rustic fence around this building. In 1851, alluvial gold was first found in the Hill End goldfields. The population of Hill End exploded following these early discoveries and, by the second rush in 1872, it was the largest inland settlement in the NSW colony. One of the most remarkable things about Hill End now is the virtual lack of development since the gold rush with almost all of the buildings dating back to the boom years around 1872 and it is this unique collection of buildings, relics, artefacts, structures, archaeological sites and landscape elements which are, individually and collectively, of outstanding architectural, ...

The majestic view from Grand High Tops in the Warrumbungle National Park near Coonabarabran in north western New South Wales, Australia. Crater Bluff is in the foreground with Tonduron Spire in the background. Both structures are volcanic plugs formed after millions of years of erosion exposes the solidified vents of old volcanos. I have a similar shot from this spot in my gallery but this one shows how my photography has improved over the years (I hope). As I reached Grand High Tops, a wedge tailed eagle hovered over us, giving the place a sense of grandeur. While the fireworks displays straddling the harbour bridge were larger & more impressive, the smaller displays from the harbour barge were more photogenic.
