Worbarrow Hoodies

Description: One of the eight ruined cottages at Worbarrow Bay (Dorset, England). The residents of Worbarrow and the nearby village of Tyneham were required to leave their homes here in 1943 as the Ministry of Defence requisitioned the surrounding land for use as a military firing range. The villages are open to the public on certain days but visitors are advised to keep to official footpaths due to the risk of unexploded ordnance. One imagines that despite the idyllic but isolated coastal setting, it would have been tough to make a living here from the land and sea. 27th May 2026.
