Steve Nelson was a high school dropout from Chicago who built up a successful motorcycle parts business, but was seduced by the California scene and moved to Huntington Beach in 1976. Nelson opened Nostalgia Cycle, specializing in parts in accessories for American motorcycles, while simultaneously launching SuperCycle Magazine. With a goal of creating a top shelf national publication for bikers, SuperCycle was all about the chopper lifestyle and featured custom bikes, bare-breasted women, and pages of ads for mail order chopper parts. The magazine struggled the first year, but year two saw circulation reach 50k, and then almost triple that in year three. SuperCycle continued to expand its reach until a national publisher purchased it.

This charming sign is your golden ticket to a retro paradise, featuring a jolly clown who’s traded his tiny car for a signpost. With a grin wider than the park’s roller coaster tracks, he’s the unofficial mayor of Mirth, pointing you in the direction of giggles and thrills. The sign, a beacon of nostalgia, promises rides that twirl you back in time, picnics that taste like childhood, and memories that will stick to you like cotton candy on a hot summer’s day.

Pacific Airshow

Founded in 1933 by Joseph Sparr, a pharmacist, Sparr's Drug was a multifaceted establishment located on the corner of Huntington & Longwood Avenues in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston, MA. Son, Arthur Sparr, after having served in the military for two years, returned home in 1953 and worked in his father's store. Noticing this drug store was already providing limited offerings of medical supplies, Arthur convinced his father to dedicate the rear of the building for selling medical/surgical supplies, to which he agreed. Sparr's also had a famous lunch counter & full-service soda fountain, appealing to casual & regular customers. Amidst Arthur's slowing down, the store closed in 2002, and the building was sold to Harvard Medical School.
