The Spreckles iris is a tall bearded iris that has stood the test of time. It is early blooming, grows very well and is resistant to virus.

Summer has come and now it’s hard to remember that just a few weeks ago we were all quarantined. This still proves us more that life without nature, without blooming flowers, is not real life. I began a flower period and I create floral paintings and believe me, I can not stop!

This is my acrylic painting of the Tennessee state bird and flower, the mockingbird and iris. There are several different colors of the iris, by common acceptance the purple iris is considered the state flower. Tennessee was admitted to the union on June 1, 1796 as the 16th state. This painting is part of my state birds and flowers collection.
