The red admiral is one of the most admired butterflies which visits our shores during the warmer summer months. There are many pressures upon their survival which permits them to be here. One major factors which would benefit their success and applies globally to butterfly conservation ~ would be the 'banning of sale of all products containing glyphosate herbicide' and making such products as roundup illegal within UK.

Often photography of moving subjects is the most tricky to achieve - but with the advent of modern constant tracking focus systems and a very good hand - it is possible to get relatively sharp images of wildlife in flight... A friend mentioned that they loved butterflies and so I had this in mind... although I have much better images in tow ~ I wanted to post this as I am quite impressed at the accuracy of the capture - with two courting butterflies on the wing. A completely natural shot ~ although I have chosen to add a contrasting blue background to add more contrast to the colourful courting red admirals.
