Last November two friends and I went to New Zealand. One day while on the road looking for somewhere to eat, we ended up in the small town of Tirau. The first thing we noticed about this place was all the corrugated iron artworks around; there were signs, figures, sculptures, even whole buildings in the shape of a dog and sheep made of this material you would normally see only used in roofing. One of the figures that stood out to me the most was this fancy lady pukeko perched on top of a jewelry and clothes shop, so I had to draw her!

Detailed portrait of a Toco Toucan, Ramphastos toco. The Toco Toucan is distributed in the rain forests of Guiana, Brazil, N. Argentina. The Toco is the largest of the toucan family with a large lightweight beak and a body with a length of 25 inches. This in one of Australia's most colourful grass finches also known as the rainbow finch. Best known habitat is Katherine in the Northern Territory. They are small birds and the males are brighter in plumage than the females. This is an image taken from an original watercolour.

Rasta chicken.

A charcoal and acrylic painting I created on canvas inspired by the beauty of a hummingbird in flight. Vibrant blue, magenta, pink, yellow and gold were used to express happiness and positive feelings.

This started as a small drawing fluoro colours. Unfortunately I cannot get those colours to reproduce here but it is nevertheless still quite colourful and a fun little piece.
