A Pizza Express poster hangs on the wall behind Larry Durkin (Tony Burton) as he speaks with Dick Hallorann (Scatman Crothers) over the phone about a Snowcat rental from Durkin’s Garage in Sidewinder, Colorado, in Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining (1980), a film featuring themes of sexual abuse. The garage’s sexually-suggestive décor also includes advertisements for “Perky Pooch air fresheners” and “hi tails” kittens, and a customer inspects a pin-up girl calendar by the front door as Durkin walks in from the snowstorm.

The carpet from Room 237 Inspired by The Shining which is a 1980 horror film produced and directed by Stanley Kubrick and co-written with novelist Diane Johnson. The film is based on Stephen King's 1977 novel The Shining. Jack Nicholson stars as Jack Torrance an aspiring writer and recovering alcoholic, who accepts a position as the off-season caretaker of the isolated historic Overlook Hotel in the Colorado Rockies. Wintering over with Jack are his wife Wendy Torrance (Shelley Duvall) and his son Danny.

The Shining is a 1980 psychological horror film produced and directed by Stanley Kubrick and co-written with novelist Diane Johnson. It is based on Stephen King's 1977 novel of the same name and stars Jack Nicholson, Danny Lloyd, Shelley Duvall, and Scatman Crothers. Nicholson plays Jack Torrance, a writer and recovering alcoholic who accepts a new position as the off-season caretaker of the Overlook Hotel. Lloyd plays his young son Danny, who has psychic abilities ("the shining"), which he learns about from head chef Dick Hallorann (Crothers). Danny's imaginary friend Tony warns him the hotel is haunted before a winter storm leaves the family snowbound in the Colorado Rockies. Jack's sanity deteriorates under the influence of the hotel

Sidewinder is a fictional town featured in the Stephen King novel The Shining as well as the 1980 film adaptation of King's book, The Shining, directed by Stanley Kubrick and the 1997 television miniseries, The Shining. Sidewinder is located in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado not far from the Overlook Hotel. The Torrance family drove through Sidewinder on their way to the Overlook. After being snowed in, Wendy Torrance maintained contact with the local Forest rangers, who were based out of Sidewinder. It is also the hometown of Annie Wilkes, the antagonist of Stephen King's novel, Misery.
