These striking deep blue berries on bright red stocks, caught my attention while out hiking. It was a wet November day while I was out walking. The contrast of the bright colours among the seasonal brown vegetation is part of the joy of outdoor discoveries. There is always something new! This photo is a reminder to get outside and explore! Hairpin Banksias (Banksia Spinulosa) are not common in Victoria, Australia - I think they prefer a warmer climate! I found this one in a patch of native bush in Healesville Sanctuary.
