Pioneer Club Las Vegas was a casino that opened in 1942 and was located in Downtown Las Vegas, Nevada, at 25 East Fremont Street. It ceased operating as a casino in 1995, the same year the Fremont Street Experience was completed.

The Par-a-Dice opened in 1953, back when Fremont and Boulder Hwy were lined with motels like these. There are a few left. After Par-a-Dice was demo'ed the only thing left was a sign by the road, which dates to the late 50s.

Eiffel Tower Replica at Paris Hotel - Las Vegas, Nevada by Debra Martz Known as Paris Las Vegas Hotel and Casino located in the heart of the Strip, Las Vegas Blvd. Original plans for the Eiffel Tower called for a full-scale replica, however that would have interfered with the nearby McCarran Airport and designers therefore reduced it to approximately 1:2 scale (540 feet). The hotel is 33 stories tall. A unique architectural aspect of the Paris is that the back legs of its Eiffel Tower actually come down through the ceiling into the casino floor. You can ride to the top just as you can in Paris, France.

The Desert Inn, also known as the D.I., was a hotel and casino on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada, which operated from April 24, 1950, to August 28, 2000 it was the fifth resort to open on the Strip The closure of the Desert Inn in 2000 and subsequent demolition was unpopular with many as it seemed to mark the end of old Las Vegas. Historian Michael Green stated: "To a lot of people outside of Las Vegas, these two places (the Desert Inn and the Sands) really meant Las Vegas. These were the places that represent the images of Las Vegas, in a far greater way than the Dunes, the Aladdin, the Hacienda and the Landmark

he El Morocco started out as a bar with slot machines on the West side of Las Vegas; when it opened in 1945 it was one of the few places where African-Americans could go to gamble in Las Vegas. This was a time when African-Americans were not allowed inside of the casinos in downtown Las Vegas or on the nascent strip. the El Morocco stood out as one club that although its history was brief was not totally forgotten by the passage of time.

Barbary Coast was a hotel and casino located between the Flamingo and Bally's on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. The hotel was owned by Boyd Gaming and was built by Michael Gaughan in 1979. The hotel was closed to be renamed to Bill's Gambling Hall and Saloon. The Barbary Coast was home of Drai's After Hours, a restaurant nightclub that is still open to this day.

Linq Promenade - High Roller Ferris Wheel - Las Vegas by Debra Martz This is only part of what the LInq promenade has to offer and was new to me on my visit as it had been several years since I had been there. I knew I wanted to ride The High Roller Ferris Wheel, standing 550 tall. What I didn't know about was the promenade that you walk through from the Las Vegas Strip which runs parallel with the ferris wheel. It is an outdoor retail, dining and entertainment plaza, where The LINQ Promenade offers several different experiences all in one place at the heart of the Las Vegas Strip. The resort included a 31-floor tower, inspired by the design of the Space Needle tower in Seattle. Frank Caroll, the project's original owner, purchased the property in 1961. Billionaire Howard Hughes, through Hughes Tool Company, purchased the Landmark in 1969

Bellagio Kabuki and Crane by Debra Martz The Bellagio Horticulture and Engineering teams transform the 14,000-square-foot Conservatory and Botanical Gardens into a showcase of inspiring sights, sounds, scents and colors. When the seasons change so do the displays. This was a main part of a Spring display in which a 35 foot tall Kabuki figure comprised of 5,000 flowers, holds a 25-foot-tall Samurai sword, symbolizing power and protection, in one hand, and a 4-foot-wide white pearl, symbolizing prosperity and beauty, in the other. Two 4 foot cranes are visible from every vantage point; however, I've only included one in this composition.
