Bishaten are hostile and are usually the primary objective of Hunts. They provide valuable Materials when defeated. Bishaten is a Fanged Beast with an odd body shape. Its body is covered mainly in cream-colored fur, while its arms and legs are covered in blue fur. Similar to its relative Kecha Wacha, Bishaten has patagia on its arms, supported by a single wing finger and covered by cyan-colored feathers, effectively forming wings that it can glide around with. Its arms end in five digits, one being the wing finger, the other four being short fingers with black claws. It also has an opposable thumb. Basarios is a flying wyvern with rocky, moss covered carapace and the juvenile form of Gravios. Its hard, stone-like carapace, which is even harder than their adult form, is used for protection against predators, and double up as an effective camouflage when Basarios partially buries itself in the ground. Basarios is a slow mover due to its weight, and although it has wings, it rarely uses them to fly. Even when it does, its weight allows it to fly only for a short time. Basarios is able to release either sleeping or poisonous gas from its underside and, on extremely rare occasions, a fire plume. It is also known to occasionally unleash a very powerful lava beam. Wroggi are bird wyverns that travel in packs that are led by largest and most toxic member. Be careful when one raises its head and its poison sac expands—that signals that it's about to spit a cloud of poisonous mist.

The Bowgun can be used to attack monsters from long range. There are two types of Bowgun: the Heavy Bowgun, which is generally slower, more powerful, and has access to high-damage ammo, and the Light Bowgun, which allows for greater mobility and evasive capabilities, and faster shooting.

The great sword has a long reach and powerful attacks. Because its sheer weight limits the speed of your movement and attacks, it lends itself well to hit-and-run combat tactics.

Sword mode boasts mobility and high guard capabilities, while axe mode boasts more powerful attacks. Store up energy while in sword mode, and then use it to deal high damage in axe mode.

The insect glaive can be used to control a Kinsect, a small insect that harvests extracts from monsters to boost your abilities. The insect glaive also allows you to vault, so you can perform jumping attacks at any time.

The lance is better at guarding than any other weapon. In addition to its long reach, its thrust attacks can be executed with little exposure to enemy attacks. Great for defense-oriented combat.

The Gunlance offers more offensive power than the lance thanks to the addition of shelling attacks, and it also has good guarding capabilities. It may take time to master.

Lightweight and easy to use, the sword & shield also boasts outstanding attack speed. The shield can be used to guard, though it may not hold up to certain attacks.

An elder dragon that soars at very high altitudes far from human habitation. Its flaming red wings are often the only visible sign of it, giving rise to its nickname, the Argent Comet. A specially evolved Leviathan with a sleek, lithe body. Mizutsune can secrete a peculiar fluid that covers its foes in immobilizing bubbles. Once its foe's movement is impaired, it closes in with spry, dance-like movements.
