Balos beach (or lagoon, if you prefer), one or my favorite places in "my" island, Crete, Greece. *HOW TO GET THERE* Two ways you can go there: You can drive until Kasteli (Kissamos) and then take a boat and go all the way around the cape. This way you can also visit the tiny island on the left part of the picture, where you can visit a Venetian Castle and a shipwreck. The other way is to drive until the next village (Kalyviani) after Kasteli and there ask which way to Balos. You take a dificult dirt road and after 8 km you reach the end of the road.
