From an original Engraving from the Illustrated London News 1860. Emperor of China Hien-Fou who succeeded to the throne in 1860 at the time of the second Opium war with England & France In 1860 the British and French Governments went to war with China for the third time to enforce satisfactory trading facilities. The trade was largely opium traffic, which undermined the health of the Chinese people, and which the Chinese authorities wanted to stop Please note there may be some age related marks from the original which will show also on any print ordered. This is inevitable with prints of this age & actually lends an authentic look to the print in my opinion.
