Pastel on Canson paper (blue/smooth side) - 50cm x 35cm This is a painting from several years ago when I paid a visit to South Australia. "Hans Heysen":http://nga.gov.au/Exhibition/HEYSEN/ (1877-1968) is a very well known Australian Artist, probably best remembered for the way he could paint the eucalypt tree. I visited his home and studio set in Hahndorf in the Adelaide Hills. It was incredible to sit beside this pool of water and take some notes and photos to enable me to paint this painting later on when I got home. It felt sort of 'spiritual' to be among the trees he used in his paintings.
