Terra Australis Incognita: Monstrum marinum This is my fourth entry for Create Art History Challenge, with theme Weird and Wonderful Creatures. It is a detail from first entry with slightly changed background. I choose only one mythical sea monster for this drawing. It is Aspidochelone - who rises to the surface from the depths of the sea, and entices unwitting sailors with its island appearance and then pull them under the ocean. I’ve also changed color of the map, and for home decoration, apparel, stationery and device cases I chose inverted colorful version.
