Magnetic Island in North Queensland has many places that you can escape from the Rat Race, this is one of them. This is the lush scenery on the Forest Walk in the Royal National Park, south of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The walk leads off Lady Carrington Drive (access via Sir Bertram Stevens Drive. I will remember this photo well because as I descended down from the walk to get a better view, I went for an unplanned slide down the wet, slippery bank & ended up with a large brown deposits on several areas of my jeans & hands, etc. There was no threat of broken limbs & looking back, it was kind of fun. The sky was overcast but the mood was bright & cheerful. It was the 75th anniversary of the opening of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The year was 2007. We all got bright green hats to wear & we walked & danced across the bridge to celebrate this anniversary of our favourite Aussie icon. It was a great atmosphere & a great day overall. Even though there wasn't a lot of water in the falls on this day, at least that meant that I wasn't getting too much spray on the lens. This rusty & dilapidated Thornycroft Trusty near Bilpin (NSW, Australia), on the Bell's Line of Road has stopped me a few times. This is the first time I have seen it without bright sunshine & dark shadows. It would have been built in the mid 1950's. There are a few rusty relics here. This one is the most photogenic. A tiny brushbox flower that is prolific in my area at the moment. It is about 3cms across & blooms in clumps all over the medium sized tree. Some of the branches drop to eye level. I tried scores of different combinations of ISO, F stop & angles to get this one right & have a few more photos I might put up. There are wooden steps that lead to the main waterfall but to get to this spot the track is less defined with the occasional stone steps.
