Rendered as a .png file, then blended with duplicate layers and a black background in GIMP v2.6, then saved in .jpg format, finally scaled up in UF. Sixth in a series of images generated with the instructions in this tutorial called Escher Stained Glass by dA's SaTaNiA (Damien), using plugin Diamond in the final transform and escher_beta=0.25 in Tx2. This work was created during a period where I was exploring different ways of manipulating paint on the paper to give interesting textural and colour mixing effects. To create this work I mixed various base colours using complementary triads as a starting point to a specific viscosity, added a little gum arabic and then using a straw picked up paint and positioned drops of varying sizes onto the paper. Water was then quickly added by flicking it off two or three different brushes, then a sheet of cling film was laid on top and pressed down. The surface of the cling film was then dragged and twisted to produce interesting patterns in the paint.
