One of the most famous aircraft of WW2, the Avro Lancaster was the star of the post war Dam Busters film. Over 7,000 of the bomber were built and used by the RAF during the Second World War and some examples were later converted to the Avro York which my father, along with many others, flew during the Berlin Airlift delivering much needed supplies to the post war civilians in Berlin.

This flying example of the most famous of wartime RAF bombers is now in the care of the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum
