Walking the walls of Dubrovnik is one of the most touristy things you can do in the city, but for me, it was also one of the most enjoyable. Not only did I spend half of my walk on a Game of Thrones tour learning about how the city had been used as the backdrop for King's Landing, but I also got to see stunning views of the city's red roofs and of the Adriatic Sea beyond.

Summer is about having fun and this is the perfect time to get outdoors and enjoy the sunshine.

The Flying Dutchman is a two masted schooner built in 1903 and is used these days mostly for cruises. The vessel was photographed leaving the Port of Blyth on the North East coast of England on a calm October morning just after sunrise.

This view of Portree Harbour was taken on a cold and rainy April day in 2016, between storms. Portree is the largest town on the Isle Of Skye in Scotland, known as an art center and for this harbor. If traveling by road from the mainland, you'll pass through Portree on the way to the Storr and Quiraing.

A galleon in a stormy night

Light breaks through the clouds, shining onto the sea, with the mountains of the west Highland coast of Scotland in the background. Photograph taken from Skye.

This is a view as you approach the 'Coral Beaches' on the Waternish peninsula, near Claigan, at the northern end of the Isle Of Skye, Scotland. Though named 'Coral Beaches', if you look closely, the beach is mostly busted up sea shell and rock. The island directly ahead is Isay, in Loch Dunvegan. Way off in the distance is Harris. This one section is striking from a distance in cloudy weather, like we had in April, 2016. On the approach, the swiftly moving clouds created an almost stroboscopic effect, lighting, then obscuring the bright white beach. I had to shoot patiently, then quickly, to get this shot.
