This painting is different than the others, in that it is Mixed Media. The painting on the wall, is a photo of a painting by Keir Kenny, that hangs on our wall. The chair was my mom's. She upholstered it, and I picked out and sold her the fabric when working at a fabric store when I was 18. The cat is Happy Jack.

This is an early print I made of a still life drawing that I did. Original drawing, original reduction linocut.

Ambrosius Bosschaert the Elder (1573 – 1621) was a Flemish-born Dutch still life painter and art dealer. He is recognised as one of the earliest painters who created floral still lifes as an independent genre. He founded a dynasty of painters who continued his style of floral and fruit painting and turned Middelburg into the leading centre for flower painting in the Dutch Republic.

Paul Cézanne (1839 – 1906) was a French artist and Post-Impressionist painter whose work laid the foundations of the transition from the 19th-century conception of artistic endeavour to a new and radically different world of art in the 20th century.

John A. Woodside (1781–1852) probably received his training from Philadelphia sign painter Matthew Pratt or one of Pratt’s business partners. In 1805, Woodside opened his own studio in Philadelphia, advertising his services as an ornamental or sign painter. He aspired to less mundane genres, however, and tried his hand at emblematic and patriotic works, animal scenes, miniatures, and copies after English engravings. This work is among Woodside’s few known still lifes and represent his best efforts as a painter. His arrangement of peaches and grapes in a spare setting bears the stylistic imprint of the Peale family, who established a still-life tradition in Philadelphia in the early nineteenth century.

Joris Hoefnagel (1542 - 1601) was a Flemish painter, printmaker, miniaturist, draftsman and merchant. He is noted for his illustrations of natural history subjects, topographical views, illuminations and mythological works. He was one of the last manuscript illuminators and made a major contribution to the development of topographical drawing.

Balthasar van der Ast (1593 - 1657) was a Dutch Golden Age painter who specialized in still lifes of flowers and fruit, as well as painting a number of remarkable shell still lifes; he is considered to be a pioneer in the genre of shell painting. His still lifes often contain insects and lizards.
