Sudan Long Sleeve T-Shirts

For this final piece to portfolio at least to the standard that I am willing to illustrate... I have tried to portray and emulate using modern technologies ~ the iconic camera style of previous generations of underwater photography... with 'classic black and white' and bold tones and contrast... I've decided to call it "One Foot In The Past"... It's quite unique... Can you spot anything unusual about the picture?

I created this piece in reflection to a few comments which were made by a photographic presenters comments, mentioning that a vignette was so passé ! I think when done well a black vignette, or even white, for that matter, works well..! This particular piece was taken in deep south Sudan in quite deep water and these Chaetodonts are usually paired up... 'they don't cheat!' They are monogamous, pairing during their adult lives... because of this the tropical fish industry along with its other problems of depleting marine stock also causes additional disruption... 'in a similar fashion to that of Syngnathidae'... the seahorses, which also form very mutually exclusive pairing.

Taken with the Nokia Lumia 1020 - this camera produces an incredible amount of detail, yet still needs some refinement for underwater use... Here the Cousteau film crew explore the varied and highly contoured underwater terrains of Sudan.

Even with a *fast shutter speed*, these brightly coloured female schooling Sudanese 'scalefin anthias' are difficult to capture by an underwater photographer... Using an array of focus points, made the capture easier, but even then - some of these little critters are just too 'skittish as a group' to pose for the camera...! Just at the time of taking the image a large male *photobombed* the camera, top right hand corner, adding to the image and its composition..!

One subject matter juxtaposed against the other, I didn't want to lose the shot. With little time to expose due to movement and at depth, in this image I had to dodge in post to somewhat lighten the foreground angelfish... in doing so it revealed some more of its delicate colour... Sometimes the people you meet on the journey ~ are just as nice as the fish...

Where the light is good, diving around the rocky underwater terrain of Sudanese waters - is often an exhilarating experience!

One snapper moves into place and I fire the photographic trigger! Pow! A one two combination. A 'body blow' of artificial light to the sternum and the rest done by nature, a 'shard of light' trickles over the ledge of the wall, 'illuminating the school' of juvenile snapper. I 'post-processed' to add that 'extra special' punch! :D
